Sandra Cameron, Artistic Director
Sandra is the Founder and Director of the Sandra Cameron Dance Center, New York's most influential school of Ballroom dancing for 30 years. She is the winner of every major American Ballroom dance competition in International style.
1st Place, United States Professional Ballroom Championships, 1976, 1977, 1978: Foxtrot, Waltz, Viennese Waltz, Tango, Quickstep
2nd Place Finalist, United States American Style Ballroom Championships
4th Place Finalist, United States Professional Latin Championship: Rhumba, Cha Cha, Paso Doble, Samba, Jive.
She is also the recipient of 1979's U.S. Terpsichore's Hall of Fame Award for services to American dancing. (more)
Jeni Breen
Jeni Breen has been involved with Dance her entire life, as a performer, choreographer and teacher. A life-changing visit to the Sandra Cameron Dance Center introduced her to the extraordinary world of ballroom and partner dancing--a world into which she plunged without looking back! She joined the faculty at SCDC in 1995 where she teaches Argentine Tango, Salsa and Ballroom. (more)

Roberto Garcia
Roberto Garcia is a performer, teacher and choreographer with 30 years of professional experience in modern dance. Roberto began ballroom dancing in 1999 and in 2001 was invited to join the staff at the Sandra Cameron Dance Center. Since September 2002 he has taught the ballroom dance classes at the 92nd Street Y. (more)

Anatoly Granovsky
Trained in International style Ballroom and Latin, Salsa and Merengue, and Ballet.

2003-2005: Head Coach & Choreographer, Gala Dance, Moscow, Russia; Competition dancer since the age of six. Awards include:
Bronze Medalist, 1994 Championship of Moscow, ages 16-18;
Finalist, 1995, 1996 Russian Championships, ages 16-18

Paul Grecki
One of a select few to have studied extensively with Savoy Ballroom legends Al Minns and Frankie Manning, Paul began teaching at SCDC in 1981. He helped spark the Lindy Hop revival in New York with his teaching at SCDC, local clubs and Lincoln Center's Midsummer Night Swing. In 1995, he and his wife, Carol, placed first at the American Swing Dance Championship in the Lindy Hop division. In recent years, Paul choreographed the dance sequences in the film, Swing City. In 2002, he was profiled in The New York Times. In addition to Lindy Hop, Paul is also an accomplished Peabody, Collegiate Shag, Carolina Shag, West Coast Swing, and Gold-level Ballroom dancer.

Stephanie Hakun
Stephanie (Shapiro) Hakun was practically born dancing. Although she began dancing ballet at the age of 5 years old in Parkridge, IL, she quickly traded in her ballerina slippers for dancing shoes where she danced all through school and in to her adult life. Stephanie's wide range of experience runs the gamut from her high school Drill Team to a traveling Folk Dance Troop in Israel, finally transplanting herself in NYC where she has excelled in Swing, Salsa, Hustle and Ballroom.

Sherman Hope
Sherman Hope grew up in Guyana where he and his father learned ballroom dancing while watching videotapes. He was discovered by Janice Carapellucci when he took her social American Style class in Brooklyn. He joined the staff in 1999 (while still in high school) and assisted in classes, performed and continued his ballroom training. Sherman, who is an accomplished, polished and versatile ballroom dancer, teaches all levels of ballroom dance classes at SCDC.

Cameron Johnson
Cameron Johnson was the Amateur and Professional Ballroom Champion of South Africa. He studied with his parents who own a ballroom dance studio and eventually taught there as well. Cameron came to the Sandra Cameron Dance Center in 2005. He teaches all levels of social dance classes, choreographs for performance workshops and co-teaches the medalist classes with Ellen Tittler. In addition, Cameron continues to teach students who wish to compete in International Style and American Style.

Danielle Quisenberry
Ms. Quisenberry is delighted to return to Sandra Cameron’s Dance Center teaching privates in the Ballroom Department. A specialist in dance work with pre-professional performers, she has been recognized with a Helen Hayes nomination for best overall production of a musical and with a Papermill Playhouse nomination for choreography. She uses those skills at the dance center creating wedding dances and helping advanced dancers hone their performance skills when dancing the smooth and standard ballroom syllabi. (more)

Larry Schulz
Larry Schulz began his Ballroom Dance training in 1949 at Ms. Blass's Dancing Classes held in the basement of the Church of the Heavenly Rest in Manhattan. Classes in the Lindy, Foxtrot, Waltz, and Charleston continued at Staudinger's Dancing School in Montclair, New Jersey. Today, Larry is the Business Manager of the Sandra Cameron Dance Center and teaches Ballroom classes on Friday evenings. Little did he realize back at Ms. Blass's Dancing Classes, he would be teaching partner dancing half a century later. (more)

Ellen Tittler
Ellen Tittler received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Dance from Juilliard School of Music and earned a Master's Equivalency in Health and Physical Education from her studies at NYU, LIU and Brooklyn College. In addition to Juilliard she trained at The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance, Alvin Ailey's American Dance Center and Luigi's. She performed in the dance companies of Pearl Lang, Ethel Winters and Lucas Hoving as well as serving as Rehearsal Director for Pearl Lang and Mary Anthony. Ellen has been teaching at SCDC since 1990. She studied Ballroom dance with Sandra Cameron, Bill Davies, Peter DiFalco, Paul Holmes, Steven Dougherty, Mark Kotowski and Miriam Ellis. (more)
