Hustle Course Levels
Basic
Students are introduced to the signature rhythm of Hustle — and-1-2-3 — and the concept of dancing in a "slot". The Basic course is broken down into a 4-month program where new steps are taught every month, while basic principles of lead and follow, partnering, timing and connection are reviewed and enforced throughout the four months.
Pre-Intermediate
Students get to learn more challenging patterns and put their basic understanding of the dance into practice in the Pre-Intermediate level. Students are introduced to 1-1/2 turn patterns with particular emphasis on turning techniques for the followers and partnering skills for the leaders.
Intermediate
As students keep progressing through the program, they learn more and more complicated patterns and amalgamations that are usable on the social dance floor. Tricks to leading the patterns are broken down further so that students not only have an easy time dancing those patterns, but they also look good.
Advanced
The Advanced class is just that — advanced! Students can expect to learn very complicated turn patterns, traveling steps and syncopations that go in and out of the signature "and-1-2-3" Hustle timing. Particular emphasis is placed on turning techniques for multiple spin patterns. Leaders should be prepared to learn to lead "robust" amalgamations.
