Stephanie Hakun

Stephanie (Shapiro) Hakun began ballet classes at the age of five in her hometown of Parkridge, Illinois. In high school she traded in her ballet slippers for Drill Team dancing shoes and later joined a traveling folk dance company in Israel. In 2000 Stephanie began studying Swing and Salsa with Reba Perez in NYC and found herself attending the Swing practices at SCDC. In 2006 she began studying Ballroom dancing with Ellen Tittler the Ballroom Program Coordinator, Cameron Johnson the Amateur and Professional Ballroom Champion of South Africa, Peter Trewin and Janice Carapellucci. Recently, she has had the honor of studying with the Ballroom Champion and founder of SCDC, Sandra Cameron. In 2008 Stephanie became a member of the Ballroom staff. She teaches wedding couples and specializes in teaching Social Ballroom Dance, Swing, Salsa and Hustle to beginners. She enjoys watching her students grow as they gain confidence and have fun on the dance floor.
