Regine Urbach, a dancer and musician, graduated from New York University with an M.F.A. in Dance, Music and Theater.   She currently teaches Argentine Tango and Milonga at the Sandra Cameron Dance Center, where she has also taught Salsa and where she has been teaching for five years.   Her unique background as a musician enables her to create a very interesting class. Her innate musicality gives her a subtle sensitivity to the dance and to her students.

Regine performed on “Naomi’s Dancing Friends,” a show which aired on MNN cable television network for many years.  Recently she was a featured dancer in “Enchanted,” the Disney movie.  Her choreography can be seen on Youtube under “Regine’s Students Dancing Argentine Tango.”
  
Her dance career began as a modern dancer and then progressed to social dances such as the Hustle, Swing, Ballroom, Salsa and then Argentine Tango and Milonga.   She fell in love with Tango in the ’90s and began her studies with Alicia Cruzado at the Sandra Cameron Dance Center.  She has also studied with such other Argentine Tango greats as Carlos DeChey, Melina Brufman, Jorge Torres, Junior Cervila, Silvina Vals, and Guillermina Quiroga and Mariana Galassi.   Her own dancing and teaching skills have been honed by all of these amazingly talented people.  

Regine spent 20 years in the music business, composing, performing, teaching and writing for singers such as Evelyn Champagne King, Odetta, the Boys Choir of Harlem, Nancy LaMott, Lee Genesis, Genie "Pepper" Swinson.  Her music has been heard in the soundtracks of blockbuster movies as well as on the stage of Carnegie Hall.   Most recently, her song “Give Us Hope” was performed at the inauguration ceremony of President Barack Obama.
